The workhorse opening in commercial construction

Steel doors and frames carry most of the traffic, most of the abuse and most of the code requirements in a commercial building. They hang straight for decades when the frame is right and the hardware is prepped correctly — and they cause punch-list problems for a year when either one is off.

We supply the door, the frame and the hardware as one coordinated package, from the same people who read the schedule, so the prep on the door matches the hardware that shows up with it.

Hollow metal doors

Flush and vision-lite steel doors for interior and exterior openings, standard and fire-rated, in the gauges and finishes the specification calls for.

Knock-down & welded frames

Knock-down frames for speed on smaller jobs, welded frames where the spec demands them — and frame pieces assembled in our own shop when factory-welded freight does not pencil.

Sidelites & borrowed lites

Frames for glazed sidelites, transoms and borrowed lites, coordinated with our glass company partners.

Prep and machining

Hinge, lock, closer and electrified prep done to the hardware schedule, so the opening arrives ready to hang.

Hollow metal questions

Can you supply a fire-rated steel opening as a complete assembly?

Yes. The door, frame and closing hardware are specified together as a labelled assembly so the opening passes inspection as installed. See our fire-rated assemblies page.

Do you supply overhead, garage or roll-up doors?

No. Our scope is doors, frames and hardware (DFH). Overhead and roll-up doors come from a different supplier.

Can you modify a stock door instead of special-ordering one?

Often, yes — that is what the shop is for. Send the size and prep you need and we will tell you whether it comes off the stock rack or has to be ordered.
