UNL Newman Center
Midwest Door & Hardware provided doors, frames, and hardware for St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church & Newman Center, a ground-up campus project serving as a spiritual, worship, and community hub for students at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. The facility was constructed by Kiewit Building Group and designed through a close collaboration between Clark Architects Collaborative and McCrery Architects.
The design team drew inspiration from historic ecclesiastical architecture while carefully integrating the building into its campus and urban context. This vision required door and hardware solutions that balanced durability, safety, and refined architectural detailing. Midwest Door & Hardware supplied hollow metal and wood door assemblies — including wood doors with integrated glass — along with Sargent hardware selected to complement the building’s character and support its daily use as a place of worship, gathering, and student life.
